What is Futsal?

Futsal is the only FIFA and NZ Football approved version of five-aside football and the world’s fastest-growing indoor sport. Futsal is a small-sided – 5v5 – game played with a smaller low bounce ball, on a court without rebound walls or nets. It is a game that combines fun, creativity, speed, technique, teamwork and quick thinking. NZF Futsal has been designed to complement New Zealand Football’s existing programmes and promote and improve participation in football in New Zealand.  All you need is the right attitude, soft soled shoes, long socks & shin pads to play one of the fastest growing indoor sports in NZ.​​​​​​​

Term 1 | 2065- FUTSAL LEAGUES- (FULL INFORMATION BELOW) 

Dates: 

• Mondays 9th February – 30th March - 12th/13th Grade, Youth & Seniors 

• Friday 13th February- 3rd April- Juniors 

VENUE  

Matches will be played at the Jubilee Stadium Hall on Mondays (9th February) and Fridays (Starting 13th February). Certain grades will play on different days.  

GRADES & ELIGIBILTY FOR 2026 

• All Players should play in the correct grade. There has been changes to grades as we have now moved to birth years to determine your grade  

JUNIORS – MIXED  

BELOW COMPETITIONS - teams can be made up of all males, all female or a mixture  

FORMAT: 3 A SIDE (NO GOALIES) - 2 X 15MIN GAMES PER NIGHT ON SMALL HALF COURT WITH SMALL GOALS. TEAMS TO SUPPLY REFEREES    

5th Grade (Born 2021)- Fridays  

6th Grade (Born 2020)- Fridays  

7th Grade (Born 2019)- Fridays  

Entry Fee: $180.00 per team  

FORMAT: 5 A SIDE (INCLUDES GOALIES) - BASKETBALL COURT  

8th Grade (Born 2018)- Fridays  

9th Grade (Born 2017)- Fridays   

10th Grade (Born 2016)- Fridays  

11th Grade (Born 2015)- Fridays  

12th Grade (Born 2014)- Mondays 

13th Grade (Born 2012)- Mondays 

Entry Fee: $360.00 per team  

Dispensation:  

• As all grades are mixed, female players can play down one grade if they wish (applies to 5th – 13th grade only)  

• Any other dispensation requests need to be in writing to ben@centralfootball.co.nz  

Grading Games (Juniors ONLY):  

When entry numbers allow, junior grades will play three grading games to ensure teams are matched at similar levels, giving kids the best playing experience possible.  

• Scores will be recorded during these grading rounds.  

• After grading, no winners will be recorded for junior grades.  

YOUTH / SENIOR  

Note: There will be no grading for these competitions. Please enter your competition based off your estimated team ability

YOUTH COMPETITIONS – Separate competitions for Male & Female.   

Under 15 Male – (Born 2011/2012)- Mondays  

Under 15 Female – (Born 2011/2012)- Mondays  

SENIOR COMPETITIONS – Seperate competitions for Male & Female  

SENIOR WOMEN – Players need to be at least 14 years of age (Mondays)  

SENIOR MENS – Players need to be at least 15 years of age (Mondays)  

Entry Fee: $360.00 per team  

Registrations close when capacity is reached or no later than 5pm Sunday 1st February. (Late Entries may not be accepted) 

Payment is due before the start of the leagues; this will be strictly enforced for 2026.
