Central League

Napier City Rovers AFC were edged out 2–1 by North Wellington FC in a closely contested fixture, despite making an ideal start to the match.

Eric Kostandini Ziu opened the scoring inside the first two minutes, giving Napier an early lead and putting the hosts on the back foot. Rovers looked composed in the opening stages, settling into a rhythm and controlling possession well.

However, North Wellington gradually worked their way back into the match. Miles Woodhall found the equaliser in the 37th minute, finishing well to draw the sides level heading into the break.

Just after halftime, Paul Owaci gave North Wellington the lead with a goal in the 47th minute. Despite Rovers pushing hard for an equaliser in the final stages, the home side held firm to secure all three points.
