Women’s Federation Cup – Grand Final
Withers Coachlines Moturoa AFC have gone one better than 2021 to take out the Women’s Federation Cup in 2022 with a 2-1 win over Isles Construction Massey University FC in Taranaki on Sunday in difficult conditions. With a prevailing breeze both teams battled hard for 90 minutes, Madeleine Hill got Moturoa off to a perfect start scoring the first of her two goals in the 11th minute before Massey responded just after half time through Lily Galloway. Madeleine completed her brace 10 minutes later as Moturoa hung onto the lead all the way to the end to lift the trophy for the fourth time following up their wins in 2011, 2013 and 2019.

Men’s Federation Cup – Semi Finals
Both Men’s Federation Cup Semi Finals were played over in Hawke’s Bay on Saturday with the first match between Heavy Equipment Gisborne United and Peringa United being played at a neutral venue due to the extreme travel involved between coasts. Gisborne United came out on top 3-0 to advance to the Grand Final with first half goals to Stuart Cranswick and Malcolm Marfell as Corey Adams put the result beyond doubt in the 73rd minute. Turbine Residential Ltd North End AFC are the other Grand Finalises after they won 2-0 over Napier City Rovers at Bluewater Stadium, Lucian Armstrong and Crispin Moore both getting early goals as the Manawatu side played out the rest of the match without conceding.
Taranaki Duff Rosebowl – Semi Final
The remaining Semi Final took place at Manukorihi Park on Saturday between KP Joinery Waitara SC and Taranaki Premiership Champions FC Western and it was the home side Waitara they took out the match 2-0 to advance to the Grand Final this coming weekend. Stephen Kibby put Waitara ahead just before half time from the penalty spot before Brock Wilson’s 62nd minute strike gave his team a two goal buffer which they never relinquish. The Grand Final is all locked in for the 3rd of September between Peringa United and KP Joinery Waitara SC at Manukorihi Park for a 2:00pm kick off.
Taranaki Nimmos Cup – Semi Finals
Pipeline Peringa United hosted the first Semi Final against Taranaki Thru Tubing NP Rangers AFC with Rangers coming out on top 3-2 to book their spot in next weekend’s Grand Final. Luke Snellgrove got two early goals for Rangers before Peringa hit back on either side of the break through Byron Forbes and Atish Chand. Then Snellgrove stepped up again in the 89th minute to complete his hat trick and break the Peringa hearts. FC Western Flaming Wolverines came from one goal behind to win 4-2 after extra time over hosts Webber Building Kaitake FC HB’s. Alexander Campbell gave Kaitake the lead after 75 minutes before Western responded late in 85th minute through Shaun Bracegirdle to send the match to extra periods. Western then scored three more goals from Viranchi Upadhyay, Adam Stuart plus Bracegirdle who completed his brace and put the result beyond doubt as Diego Parra did pull one back for Kaitake just before full time. The Grand Final is also out at Manukorihi Park on the 3rd of September for a 11:30am kick off.
