Women’s Federation Cup – Grand Final

Withers Coachlines Moturoa AFC have gone one better than 2021 to take out the Women’s Federation Cup in 2022 with a 2-1 win over Isles Construction Massey University FC in Taranaki on Sunday in difficult conditions. With a prevailing breeze both teams battled hard for 90 minutes, Madeleine Hill got Moturoa off to a perfect start scoring the first of her two goals in the 11th minute before Massey responded just after half time through Lily Galloway. Into the second half and NCR found some more rhythm managing to scores two more times through Christian Leopard. That was to be the last of the scoring with NCR securing the Challenge Cup for another season in the 3-1 win. Hastings Hibernian have good form following a 5-1 win vs Taradale which will make the last game Hibs have coming up very interesting. HNW Mercenaries and Napier Marist had the game of the round which wasn’t the best day out for defences.
