WOMEN IN FOOTBALL
Leadership Programme 2023

Proudly supported by Palmerston North City Council

Women in Leadership Programme

Central Football is excited to announce our first regional Women in Leadership Programme in partnership with New Zealand Football. This programme is aimed at women who are currently involved in the game and are our existing and emerging future leaders in the sector.

Program Goals

The Women in Leadership Programme aligns with Central Football's strategic pillar "GROW" and aims to strengthen capability and leadership across women's football. It focuses on closing the 'confidence gap' and challenging biases that may be hindering women from pursuing their careers further. The programme is designed to create a community of women leaders who want to increase their personal and organizational impact.

Programme Highlights

  • The programme will help participants develop their leadership skills and increase their confidence.
  • The programme will connect participants to their local communities and involve clubs in supporting the candidates throughout the journey.
  • A project delivery component will allow candidates to present and implement their ideas within their clubs, with additional support provided to pursue these projects beyond the programme's closure.

Benefits for Participants

By committing to the Women in Leadership Programme, participants will have the opportunity to develop themselves, step out of their comfort zones, and build their confidence. This will ultimately amplify their leadership abilities, increase their impact, and enhance their influence within the football community.

Eligibility

The Women in Leadership Programme is targeted towards local women who are currently involved in club committees, administration teams, coaches, referees, or emerging leaders who are passionate about taking our game into the future.  All candidates must be 16 years or older to be eligible for nomination.

We encourage every club in the Central Football region to nominate at least one representative to take part in this programme.  All candidates are expected to attend the regional Women in Leadership in full.  There is no cost to the course.  Accommodation will be provided for successful candidates based outside the Manawatu.
