YORB Pacific Premiership
- Western Rangers welcomed Heavy Equipment Gisborne Utd to St Leonard’s Park. The match was locked at two a piece heading into the last half hour. Two goal in the space of four minutes (Josh Adams 78’ and Kieran Venema 86’) for Gisborne sealed the away win 2-4. The win keeps Gisborne in 3rd.
- Duke of Gloucester NCR Prems and Red Steel Napier Marist played out the latest addition of the Park Island derby. A goal to Rovers Isaac Milley just before half time followed by two within seven minutes of the restart (Stu Wilson and Harry Pike) meant the blues left with 3 goals, a clean sheet and 3 points.
- At the business end of the table Gisborne Vehicle Testing Thistle continued their push for the title with a 3-2 victory over Fujitsu Maycenvale Utd. The match included a ripper of a free kick from Gisborne Thistle Centre-Back – Ander Batarrita. Check it out here - https://www.facebook.com/gisbornethistle/videos/980821418996433/
- Palm City Port Hill United were looking to bounce back after their first loss in 11 matches the week prior to Thistle. The loss doesn’t seem to have shaken them as they found a way past a difficult trip to face Taradale AFC 1-4. The win keeps Port Hill top by three over Thistle who still have the game in hand.
NOTE: Palm City Port Hill face Fujitsu Maycenvale this week coming while Gisborne Vehicle Testing Thistle host Duke of Gloucester NCR. This was the last originally scheduled match of the season. If both win this week, the title will come down to the Gisborne derby catch game scheduled on 12th September and possible goal difference. No one should be looking to far ahead however as Maycenvale and NCR will be stern tests this late in the piece.
