Napier City Rovers fell to a narrow 3–2 defeat against Western Suburbs in a dramatic clash at Bluewater Stadium.
The visitors struck early through Noah Tipene-Clegg (8’) and Cameron MacKenzie (10’) to take control. Sam Lack pulled one back for Rovers in the 32nd minute, and Stephen Hoyle looked to have salvaged a point with a 90th-minute equaliser.
However, Western Suburbs snatched the win moments later with a goal from Jonathan Robinson (90’+1’), leaving NCR empty-handed after a spirited fightback.

The visitors opened the scoring through Leo Elders after 21 minutes before Tawa brought the scores level through Aaron Scott 10 minutes later. The second half saw more of the same but this time it was the home team who found the lead when Lachlan Hill scored in the 52nd minute. However that lead was short lived as it was all level again 1 minute later when Ben Hutchings scored for FC Western. 2-2 the final result.

Dylan Cozens got the home side off to a flyer with goals in the 7th and 17th minutes, before Liam Shackleton added a third in the 27th. Port Hill came to life in the second half, with Jay Mason scoring twice and Kaleb McKenzie adding a third to make it 3–3.
Risqi Triyanto put Maycenvale back in front in the 86th, kicking off a wild finish. Ollie Berry looked to have rescued a point with a 90’+2 equaliser, but Shackleton responded instantly with his second to secure the win just a minute later.
