Men’s Federation Cup

In the game of the round, we had Tremains Port Hill United Premiers taking on NP Physiotherapy FC Western in neutral Palmerston North. Port Hill United started strong with an early goal from Matt Betesta in the 11th minute and took a 1–0 lead into halftime. However, NP Physiotherapy FC Western came out firing after the break, scoring three goals in just 14 minutes. Jack Flood equalized in the 49th minute, followed quickly by Ben Hutchings in the 50th, and Jordi Fettis added a third in the 63rd. Betesta scored again in the 76th to give the hosts hope, but Hutchings sealed the win for NP FC Western with his second goal in the 79th minute. A dominant second-half performance gave NP FC Western a deserved 4–2 victory.

Women’s Federation Cup

In the game of the round, we had GJ Gardner Homes Whanganui Athletic Women taking on Wallace Roofing Takaro AFC X-Force. Wallace Roofing Takaro AFC X-Force made a strong start to the match, opening the scoring in the 23rd minute through Kowhai Eynon-Hudson, giving the visitors an early advantage. Whanganui Athletic responded steadily and found their equalizer in the 38th minute through Stella Warner, ensuring the teams went into the break level at 1–1. After halftime, Whanganui Athletic came out with greater intensity and control. They took the lead in the 55th minute via Lana O’Connor, turning the momentum firmly in their favor. As the pressure mounted on the visiting side, Isla Jones added a third in the 66th minute, extending the cushion and putting Whanganui firmly in control. The home side continued to dictate play and rounded off the performance with a fourth goal in the 74th minute, this time through Kaitlin Ahonen, completing a dominant second-half display.

Eastern Premiership Round 9

Shanis Taradale came from two goals down to defeat ITM Napier Marist 5–2 in a game of two contrasting halves. Napier Marist took early control through two goals from Jett Hogg in the 7th and 34th minutes. Taradale responded strongly after the break, with Max Fysh scoring in the 60th minute to begin the comeback. Late goals from Nick De Maine (84') and Ethan Bryan (86') turned the match in Taradale’s favour, before Fysh completed his hat-trick with two stoppage-time goals (90'+1, 90'+4). A strong second-half showing saw Taradale secure all three points.

Hawke's Bay Championship Round 9

ECR Western Rangers Reserves recorded a convincing 4–0 win over Thirsty Whale NCR Champs.

Angelo Giugliano was the standout performer, scoring a hat trick with goals in the 25th, 57th, and 68th minutes. Giovanni Mullins added a fourth late in the match (81’) to cap off a strong team display.

The Rangers controlled much of the game, limiting NCR’s chances and making the most of their attacking opportunities.

Taradale AFC Vikings edged Burger Fuel Port Hill United Div2 with a 1–0 win.

The only goal came in the 60th minute from Hamish Sim. Both teams had periods of possession, but chances were limited throughout.

Taradale made the most of their key opportunity, while Port Hill were unable to find an equaliser.

Hawke's Bay Women's Championship

Goodmans Port Hill Women’s Prems won 6–1 against Nexia NZ Western Rangers.

Abbey Kilkolly scored five goals (16’, 49’, 71’, 87’, 88’) and Joyce O’Brien added one in the 81st minute. Grace Whaanga scored for Western Rangers in the 61st.

Port Hill had more chances and finished well. Western Rangers managed one goal but couldn’t keep up in the second half.

HNW Development claimed a 3–1 win over Quality Pumping Port Hill United.

Adidas Kepa scored twice (42’, 71’), and Erin Sycamore added a goal in the 66th minute. Wairua Spooner pulled one back for Port Hill late in the match (89’).

HNW had the edge for most of the game, while Port Hill struggled to convert chances until the final minutes.
