Men’s Central League 2

It was your cliched Game of 2 halves when Watson Integrity PN Marist played hosts to Suchy & Co Realty Ltd FC Western with the home team scoring inside 10 minutes through Campbell Wallace then Dominic Richmond converted from the spot less than 5 minutes later. FC Western found themselves back in the contest when Jack Flood netted his penalty opportunity to cut the PN Marist lead to 1 just before the half.  The second half saw neither team able to find the back of the net until second half substitute Jack Gunson scored to level the scores. FC western then claimed all 3 points when Flood scored his second of the day very late on.

Memorial Park plays host this week when Palmerston North United plays hosts to Langley Twigg Taradale AFC. Palmerston North United will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing loss last time out while Taradale will be looking to build on the 1 all draw they got last week against Stop out.

Round 2 Results

Quick fire goals to Farina Anchico and Hannah Pilley had the visiting Wellington United Diamonds team ahead inside 15minute when they travelled up to Taradale Park to face Shadow Solutions Taradale AFC. Achinco then grabbed a second just before the end of the first half giving the visitors a 3 goal lead going into the break. The second half saw more of the same as Wellington United scored 3 more times during the second half first to Natalie Olson who continued her hot start to the season infront of goal. Carolyn O’Reilly then grabbed herself a brace as the defending champions ran our 6-0 winners.

This week sees Excel Refrigeration Moturoa AFC welcome a Waterside Karori Side who have started to find their form with back to back victories. Moturoa will be looking to slow them down and grab a crucial 3 points to springboard their season in the right direction.

 

Federation Cup 2025

It was an absolute goal fest When Peggy Gordon’s NP Rangers travelled down to Timona Park to take on Fielding United. The first half saw NP Rangers race out to a comfortable 4 goal lead with goals to Lewis Cumberledge, Niall Leggett and a brace to Domenico Squatriti. The second half saw all 3 players repeat the scoring while Fielding scored a couple of constellation goals NP Rangers coasted to an 8-2 victory and confidence into next weeks fixture against Palmerston North United at Merrilands Domain.

Elsewhere TSH Moturoa were cool under pressure as they came from behind twice to beat Whanganui City on penalties to set up a local derby again FC Western at Onuku Taipari Domain next weekend.

Merrilands Domain played host when BTW NP Rangers Oddbodz went up against Western Autos Moturoa. Mitch Owen scored for the Oddbodz inside 20 minutes. The second half saw Owen net a brace and John Hight also bagged a goal to seal the victory.

McDonald Real Estate Stratford’s Seth Tate opened the scoring when they took on Vepo Plumbing FC Western at Swansea Park. The lead lasted a matter of minutes before Conrad Watt equalised for the visitors. Adam Stuart then gave FC Western the lead when he scored midway through the first half. However it was all square again at the half as Brody Savage levelled the scores just before half time oranges. The second half saw FC Western once again take the lead through Stuart in the 59th minute before Blake O’Halloran sealed the game with less than 10minutes to play.
