It is with great disappointment that we advise that Russell Jones has resigned from his role as Referee Development Officer with Central Football.
In the last two and a half years that Russell has been with us, he has done an outstanding job for the Federation. His tireless pursuit of new match officials has been second to none and has resulted in us currently having the highest number of match officials we have ever had and being the envy of every other Federation in the country when it comes to match coverage each weekend.
Russell has built several important relationships within the football community both within our Federation and nationally, become a trusted mentor to many of our developing match officials, whilst being a sounding board to our more experienced and advanced officials. Russell has also been an active match official when time allowed, and he will be missed in this space too.
Russell and his partner are moving back to Europe at the end of the year and his last day with us will be Wednesday 11 December. We will be looking to fill Russell’s large shoes and will be seeking interest in this in the coming weeks.
I am sure you will all join me in thanking Russell for his contribution to Central Football, and our game, and wishing him all the very best for his future endeavours.
