Lotto Men’s Federation League
Match of the Round
Bayleys Palmerston North United vs Watson Integrity Palmerston North
It was due to be some finish to the season with both Palmy sides locked on points at the top of the table in the final game of the campaign, a championship and a Central League play-off on the line. The weight of the match brought a solid crowd to Memorial Park to take in the event. However, what was about to happen we’re not sure anyone would’ve seen coming. The tight, cagey affair most thought was going to take place never materialised as home side Palmy Utd came out flying, ahead within 10 minutes through ben Mori and two up at the break. It didn’t stop there as another was added for the home side within two minutes of the second half getting underway, and Ben Mori’s second in the back of the net within an hour. In the end, it was some day for Palmy Utd as they sewed up the title at home 4-0 in a massive local derby and will head to the Central League play-offs vs the Capital qualifier on the 7th & 14th September.
