MEN’S FEDERATION LEAGUE – ROUND 9:

On a cold winters evening at the Arena Manawatu Turf Watson Integrity Marist took on ALH Gisborne Thistle. The home side bouncing back from last weeks defeat with a clinical performance thanks to a Hattrick from Mason Charlton as well as a brace from Adam Cowan as they secured a comfortable 6-1 win.

At Taradale Park Shani’s Taradale hosted Bayley’s Palmerston North United. United made it back-to-back wins as they continued their form in front of goal. A Benjamin Mori Hattrick and a Ryan McDermott brace key contributors as the visitors claimed 7-1 win on the road.

WOMEN’S FEDERATION LEAGUE – ROUND 7:

Excel Refrigeration Moturoa AFC made it five wins from as many matches with a 5-0 victory over Havelock North. Chantal Williams and Fernanda Toscani picking up braces along the way.

At Memorial Park in Palmerston North One Staff Marist Reserves ran into a rampant Atlas New Plymouth Rangers. Jasmine Burnard-Leppinus with a Hattrick of goals and Sasha Rasmussen with Brace of goals as the Visitors claimed a comfortable 6-0 win as they move into second place on the ladder.  

 

HB REVIEW 

YORB Pacific Premiership 

In the Hastings Derby, a 20th minute goal from Maycenvale Utd’s Dylan Cozens was enough to see the home side claim their first win of the season against Jarks Cityside Western Rangers. At Park Island Duke of Gloucester NCR took on Falcon Electrical Taradale. Taradale started the game strong, leading 4-1 at the break. Rovers started to build momentum in the second half but unfortunately a third goal in the 85th minute wasn’t enough to catch the away side. The top of the table clash between Pak N Save Tamatea Napier Marist and Palm City Motor Inn Port Hill promised to be a thriller. Tiwai Wilson opened the scoring in the 25th minute, taking his side into halftime with the lead. Marist came back in the second half courtesy of Jett Hogg netting their first goal in the 53rd minute. Marist continued to apply pressure, going on to score 2 more goals, taking away a 3-1 win.

HB Reserve League 

Burger Fuel Port Hill will be spending their second week at top of the table, the team keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Rogue Hop Napier Marist. Thirsty Whale NCR took on Taradale AFC. Shelton Stok put Taradale in front in the 38th minute. The second half started off well for the home side with Kyle Baxter scoring in the 64th minute followed by goals from Nick Matheson, Michael Daly and a 2nd for Kyle Baxter, enough for Taradale to secure the 4-1 win. Giant Brewing Maycenvale Strollers welcomed ECR Western Rangers. Western Rangers opened the scoring early with Judah Little in the 2nd minute of the match. The home side equalized in the second half with a goal from Ollie Wilson however the away side got three back to win 4-1. At Petane Domain, Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Blues had the challenge of taking on HNW Cole Murray in what was a high scoring match. HNW Cole Murray came out on top 7-1.

HB Division 2 

Top of the table clash had HNW Divas take welcome Paddy’s Bar NCR to Guthrie Park. The away side taking the win 3-1 thanks to a Liam Simmons double. Westshore Beach Inn Eskview took on HNW Arataki Honeybees, the away side winning 5-2. Western Rangers welcomed Completebuild Taradale Vikings to St Leonards Park both teams looking good, however a double from Hugh Reed handing the away side the win 3-1.

HB Division 3 

Elite Flooring Maycenvale Vikings went down 0-1 at home to Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Reds. Hastings Hibernian Sports Club Hammers took on Paddy’s Bar Napier City Rovers in match where the sides couldn’t be split, ending in a 2-2 draw. Napier South took on HNW Razos, Napier South coming away with a 4-0 win. Croplands Spray Shop Western Rangers took on East Coast Tiling Western Rangers in a club derby match. Croplads Spray shop opened the scoring in the first half and looked to be the winning side until a 75th minute goal from East Coast Tiling saw the game end in a stalemate, 1-1. Marewa United looked to have the win all locked up in their fixture against Burger King Port Hill, going 2-0 up until a brace scored by Luke Kenworthy in the last 3 minutes of the match gave Port Hill a vital point. Hastings Hibernian Pacificas took on Intergrity1 Napier Marist, Marist coming away with the win 4-2.

HB Masters 

Westshore Beach Inn Eskview had the challenge of taking on The Flax Western Rangers. Rangers bagged a win away from home 5-0. Port Hill played Union Hotel Napier South concluding in a 4-4 draw. At Park Island, Taradale had Paddy’s Bar NCR. Paddy's bar taking the win 4-0. Marewa Masters hosted shed 2 Napier Marist at Petane Domain. Napier Marist proved to be too strong for Marewa, taking a 3-2 win. The Havelock North Derby saw HNW Alessandro’s take on HNW Mercenaries, both sides looking evenly matched in the first half. 5 goals from HNW Alessandro’s in the second half took Alessandro’s to an emphatic 7-3 win.

HB Women’s Division 1

It was a big game at the top of the table as Quality Pumping Ltd Port Hill tried to close the gap to leaders Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Blues when they met at Marewa Park.  Once again it was Eskview who were too strong for the opposition with an Aibhe Madden double the highlight in their 1-3 victory.  Taradale Reserves have jumped Port Hill to second place on the ladder with a 3-1 win vs HNW Village Insurance. Casey Ralph netting twice for Taradale in what would turn out to be a good day for the clubs sides. Turfrey Taradale also managed a victory away at Western Rangers in a match that 1-2 in their favour. This result now have the two teams level on 7 points.

Women’s Division 2

Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Development kept a clean sheet on the way to a 6-0 win over Burgerfuel Port Hill Womens on Sunday. The win keeps Eskview at the top of the table, 5 points clear of Hastings Hibernian.

A 2nd vs 3rd play off took place at Park Island. Happy Days Childcare Taradale AFC and Hastings Hibernian couldn’t be separated when the final whistle blew – finishing 1-1. HNW Loading Ramp had a 1-0 win against Westshore Beach Inn Eskview Whites.

NCR had the bye.
