Watsons PN Marist FC are right on their heels after they got past Levin AFC 3-0 away with two goals from Fletcher Leslie. Waikanae Beach Top10 Gisborne Thistle continue their perfect start to the season with a hat trick from Jimmy Somerton getting them the home win 5-2 against Alexander Electric Napier Marist. In the final game Havelock North Wanderers kicked started their season with a 6-1 win when they hosted Peggy Gordons NP Rangers, Bjorn Christensen with the brace. GJ Gardner Homes Whanganui Athletic had the Bye and will look to get their season back on track when they host North End next weekend.
We also had teams in action on Monday in the Chatham Cup Preliminary Round when Whanganui Athletic travelled to Taranaki to take on FC Western but unfortunately they had to travel home with a 1-0 loss in what was an excellent spectacle. In the other Chatham Cup Preliminary match Gisborne Thistle hosted Havelock North Wanderers and this tough battle ended 2-1 in Havelock’s favour.

PNBHS show spirit and fight against joint leaders LongChill Takaro Jokers. Takaro took an early lead after 20 minutes when Ayrton Smith got his first of two but as football does in the danger time just before half time first Ben Mori then Jaiden Meyer netted to go in 2-1 at the break. Smith completed his brace early in the second half and game on! Quality across the park was on display for both teams. Ben Mori completed his brace in the 65th minute and then Meyer got his in the 85th and locked it up. Takaro got a 90+1 third goal from Dylan Welch but PNBHS held on for a big tree points.
PN Marist Reserves take all three points against RSM Breakers at Skoglund Park. An early OG put RSM behind and the deficit was doubled on the stroke of half-time when Dylan Barry slotted home. RSM Breakers got themselves back into the game early on in the second half when Ben Prestidge slotted with plenty of time to play. Former golden boot winner Blair Lankshear secured all three points with a strike that came in the 68thminute.
Eltayeb brothers cause problems for Massey as JAPAC Hokowhitu take all three points. Khalid opened the scoring in the 29th and then Mohamed got a brace with goals in the 64th and 67th. Last years Championship golden boot Gwylym Hamilton got a late consolation goal for Massey in the 87th.
Max Davidson scored a “screamer” (top bins in fact!) to open the scoring when Versatile Whanganui City came to town to play North End Reserves. Michael O’Neil answered for the hosts after 25 minutes and Jona Mufunda put them ahead as he netted in the 63rd. Ant’s Bell levelled it back up just sixty seconds later and game on at 2-2. Coming off the bench O-Mine Ye Nut was the match winner with his goal in the 82nd minute.
GJ Gardner Athletic Reserves took a big scalp over at Wembley Park when they hosted inform teamlewis RE/MAX Feilding United. Adam Tipper opened the scoring after just 15 minutes and was followed shortly after when Steven Burney doubled the lead at the 25th minute mark. Feilding United were reduced to 10 men and this galvanized the squad and midway through the second half Aaron Richardson got the visitors back in the game with plenty of time to play. Feilding ran out of time and Athletic made their numerical advantage count.
Round 5 match of the round: Feilding United host Hokowhitu over at Timona Park, the home side will want to get back to winning ways. Hokowhitu are on a good run of form also and this should be a good game.

Massey University opened the scoring after just 7 minuets when they hosted PNBHS 2nd XI. Thomas Pearce on target for the Uni side. It was a short lived lead as John Blackwell equalized in the 25th minute. In a bit of good fortune or bad luck depending on who you support the University side went ahead early in the second half through an OG. PNBHS couldn’t find a way back in and Massey University did enough to go back to back wins.
Team Campbell – Harcourts Feilding United Reserves had a scoring blitz as they hosted PN Marist Development over in Feilding. Ramesh Chhetri was joined by braces from Sulaiman Kigozi and Logan Julian. But Josh Draper nets the quickest goal of the season in under 60 seconds. The hosts rounded out their scoring when Caleb Christiansen scored in the 50th.
Alteration Specialists North End Vets could be the real deal! Matt Wallace opened the scoring after 9 minutes against Takaro Titans and Vets looked to build on last weeks hard fought point they gained. All three points were secured when pacey wide man Joshua Hawe-Muldrock got on the score sheet in the 87th minute and has scored two weeks running.
Round 5 match of the round: Massey Development and North End are two form sides, this could be a cracker!

PN Marist Park Rangers raced out to an early lead when Pete Hunter scored after 4 minutes a Spencer Hampson goal had them looking comfortable after 54 minutes. Hustlers did well to gain a point.
Pahiatua came to town and took all the points against Manawatu Plunderers. Goals from Josh Wakelin-Marshand Thomas Carter couldn’t hold the visitors off.
McDonalds Feilding United Development were just pipped by Takaro Glory 3-2. Goals from Emmanuel Bhattarai and Gamied Fredericks couldn’t help Feilding secure the points.

In the Marist Derby Shamrock Rovers and Banshees played out a tight tussle with just the solitary goal separating them.

The stacked (wink) RSM Old Boys side had a good battle with the Resonanat Masters team. No goal scoring data to hand but rumour has it Terry Wood scored from quite some distance?

In the only Women’s Premiership game to be played over the weekend Massey University hosted PN Marist Mayhem. Hannah Carey equalized for the hosts but Mayhem had enough quality to earn the result. Mayhem scoring data to come.
