Central Football Board

The Central Football Board comprises of four members appointed by a Selection Panel, three members elected by the game and up to two co-opted positions. Board positions are for a two year term.

The Board is responsible for setting and implementing policy for all footballing matters and meets a minimum of six times a year.  

 

 

 

  JOHANNA WOOD, Chairperson - Elected Member
 
Manawatu based Johanna Wood brings to the Board a wealth of knowledge from her previous position as Principal of Queen Elizabeth College and has particular expertise in financial management, managerial processes and human resources. She has spent many years in assisting in the administration of football in the Manawatu and has a son and a daughter who both play. Johanna has held the Central Football Chair position since 2010.
 
 
 
  BRUCE McGHIE, Deputy Chairperson - Elected Member
 

Bruce McGhie hails from Wanganui, where he is a company owner. Bruce’s association with football spans 46 years, during which time he has played both junior and senior football and refereed at Central League Division 1 level. Bruce is a Founder and the current Chairman of the Board of Wanganui United and is a past President of Wanganui City Football Club.

 

 
 
 
  DARYL BURTON, Appointed Member
 
Manawatu based Daryl Burton has been involved in football all his life having played for and in later years coached at Manawatu Representative level. Daryl has also coached at the YoungHeart Manawatu Academy and continues to coach senior teams in the Manawatu. He has also been a player, coach manager, selector and administrator with Army and Defence Force Football and is the current Chairman of Army Football and Head Coach of the NZ Defence Force Men’s team.
 
 
 
  LEIGHTON EVANS, Elected Member
 

Leighton Evans joined the Board of Central Football in April 2011. Poverty Based Leighton has been a football enthusiast for many years, and still graces the pitches in Gisborne for his team Eastgate.  Along with his grass roots knowledge of the game Leighton also bring his commercial and financial expertise, being the General Manager of the Eastland Trust. 


 
 
 
  JAMIE HALL, Appointed Member
 

Jamie Hall from Hawke’s Bay joined the Central Football Board in March 2012. Jamie has spent many years coaching and administrating sport in the Central Region, having coached from National League level down to Juniors.  He is the current President of Taradale AFC and a Life Member of that club and has also served on Advisory Groups for both Women’s and Men’s football.

 
 
 
  KEVIN PALFREYMAN, Appointed Member
 

Palmerston North based Kevin Palfreyman joined the Board of Central Football in October 2011. An avid follower of all things football Kevin has been involved as a player, coach and administrator for over 40 years. Kevin was elected to the Board of Takaro AFC in 2003 and has served as President since 2006, plus he is a regular face on the Central Football Judiciary panel. Alongside Kevin’s football knowledge he also brings to the Board a high level of experience in senior governance roles.

 
 
 
  ROD PELOSI, Co-opted Member
 

Rod Pelosi from Manawatu brings to the Board a life-time of football history. In 2005 he was elected Chairman of Central Football, a position he held to 2010. For a period of time in 2010 he also held the held the role of Acting CEO of Central Football and served as the organisation’s President until 2012. Rod is currently the Chairman of NZ Football’s National Referee Appointments Panel, Chairman of the Central Football Referees Committee and is a past Chairman of the Hawke’s Bay Football Association.

 
 
 
  PAUL STANCLIFFE-WHITE, Appointed Member
 

In October 2011 Central Football welcomed Paul Stancliffe-White to the Board. Paul comes from New Plymouth where he is actively involved at a local level being a past President of the Peringa Football Club, a Board member of Team Taranaki since 2007 and that organisation’s Chair from 2008 to 2011. Paul brings to the Board of Central Football a wealth of commercial experience with an international CV in tourism and hospitality.
