Representative Teams Framework
Overview
The following framework provides direction, conditions and boundaries for the selection of all Coaches appointed within Central Football and all Representative teams and Federation teams. The rationale for this is because parochialism and bias leads to decisions being taken for the good of a few, rather than for the good of the player, coach, team and game as a whole. It can be thought of as a tool for guidance and direction, a series of action steps that bear greater transparency and accountability.
The Representative programme is a competition held between Central and Capital Football and is for the following age groups Boys 12,13,14,15, U17 Girls U13, U15, U17. The tournaments are held each year during the Sept/Oct holidays in either a Central or Capital Football venue. Up to 10 teams can be involved in this competition held over 4 days. The Federation programme enables the best players within our Federation to compete against the other six Federations at the National Age Group Tournament held in Napier in December. The following age groups compete – Boys 13, 14, 15 Girls 13, 14, 15
The National Woman’s team enables the best players within our Federation to compete against the other 6 Federations plus a NZS U18 rep side in a National League which commences in October.
The National Youth league is a competition now run between National League Franchise academies. Central Soccer is working with the Franchises to ensure that players from all our regions are able to compete in this league. This framework has been approved by the Board and operates on the basis of principle rather than expediency. There are a number of processes, procedures, rules & regulations and programmes that underpin and interlink the components of the framework. Authorities 1. The Board has approved the framework. 2. The Director of Football (DOF) is available for advice and is responsible for ensuring the framework is followed and adhered to. 3. The Regional Managers are available to assist in general administration and compliance of the framework. 4. Annual reviews will take place at year-end.
