Small Whites This is an initiative by New Zealand Football to develop intital skills of players and gives great tips for coahing of young players. The McDonald's Skills Academy provides players, coaches and parents alike with a fun and engaging programme that measures and celebrates the development of a child’s soccer skills. This programme is available in the Small Whites Handbook (NZ Soccer coaching manual - click here to download). If you have any further questions you can either ask your coach or your local regional office The McDonald's Skills Academy uses straightforward and reliable tests that provides kids with the opportunity to set performance goals and view development in terms of personal improvement and consequently provide enjoyable focus for participation The benefits for anyone using the McDonald's Skills Academy Tests include: • Tests designed to be fun and capture children's imaginations • Tests allow coaches, players and parents to measure development over time • Tests and certificates designed to reward achievement and celebrate children achieving their personal goals • Recognises progress of children by advocating benefits of practice to improve scores "Hey kids, start practicing to see what level you are able to achieve within this programme."
