Background

From District Associations to Federations
Federations are the result of New Zealand Football  introducing a structure into the game that aims to deliver more value to its stakeholders.

The 23 District Associations have been incorporated into seven Federations. These Federations are responsible for local growth and developing the game through improving systems, enhancing communication with members, and being more accountable to soccer being developed rather than purely administered.

Federations have combined Coaching, Refereeing, Playing and Administrating functions, across all ages, grades, divisions; competitive and social, clubs and schools. They are also responsible for constructing their own infrastructure, funding their activities and developing their own visions and plans to grow the sport within their own geographical boundaries and communities.

Federations .have their own Boards and Action Groups and are ultimately accountable to the grass roots of the game.
Central Football  covers 5 regions – Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu, Wanganui and Taranaki.
Each region has its office, identity and local colours through our website portals and we offer regional, inter-regional and inter-federation leagues and tournaments.
Our strategic plan is based on the NZF plan with a Federation focus.
